Because Cancer Sucks ~ Movember Mural by Jeff “Weirdo” Jacobson

Make a left on Pike and Broadway to check out in person this kick-ass mural by Jeff “Weirdo” Jacobson. It commemorates and supports the growing Movember movement, where dudes across the planet grow mustaches to raise awareness of prostate and testicular cancer. $21 million was raised last year, and that, friends, is a whole lot of saved balls. Hit the Seattle Movember Facebook page for events and fundraisers in the area, and click on over to Weirdo’s Pinterest for more of his excellent work.

Tacos at Marination Station ~ Capitol Hill

marination-station-tacos 5

I love tacos and I particularly love tacos from food trucks, but I’m far too lazy a bastard to track them down. Luckily, Marination Station, an eatery with awesome food-truck roots, can be found every day above the QFC on Pike and Broadway. What we have in the pics here are 2 tofu tacos, 2 ginger miso chicken tacos, and a side of mac salad. The fiscal damage for all this? $12.75. Was it worth it? Indeed. And I was mad stuffed afterward. A less gluttonous eater can easily get away with only three tacos, which will run you an entirely reasonable 7ish bucks. Check out the menu for other and meatier delights–short ribs, spicy pork, and even (yes) SPAM sliders.
