FOCUS FABRIC + BLUE 4 + PINK 2 This is better; color, scale and print all work, but the blue and pink are a bit too close in value. FOCUS FABRIC + BLUE 4 + PINK 3 Nope! Too similar in pattern, too close in scale and too close in value. FOCUS FABRIC + PINK 1 + GREEN 1 Not bad! The green and pink are different values as well as complementary colors, so this works. FOCUS FABRIC + PINK 1 + YELLOW 1 The yellow is a bit brighter and more cheerful than Green 1. The scale of the fabrics, the pattern styles, and the colors all complement each other in a way that makes this my favorite option.

Your final choices may be different, but remember to consider: Color Scale Value Are the prints compatible?
Rectangle: The rectangular ruler is the basic rotary ruler that you will need for the projects in this book and for any quilt project you may undertake. These rulers come in many sizes, but I recommend buying one that is 6½” (17cm) wide and at least 12” (30cm) long. I prefer rulers that are marked with a grid of 1” (25mm) squares and with lines every ¼” (6mm). These markings make it very easy to see how many inches you are measuring. 2. Square: Square rulers are helpful when squaring off blocks to perfect squares.
