Make 56. Quilt Assembly 1. Arrange the blocks in 8 rows of 7 blocks each. Sew the blocks together to make 8 rows. Press seams in opposite direction from row to row. Sew the rows together. Press. 2. Sew the 2˝ × 42˝ inner border strips together and cut into 2 strips 2˝ × 601/2˝ for the sides and 2 strips 2˝ × 56˝ for the top and bottom. 3. Sew the side inner border strips and then the top and bottom border strips to the quilt. Press the seams toward the inner border. 4. Sew the 31/2˝ × 42˝ outer border strips together and cut into 2 strips 31/2˝ × 631/2˝ for the sides and 2 strips 31/2˝ × 62˝ for the top and bottom borders.
